Infy appoints Sawhney as group general counsel; Dadlani quits


Inderpreet will be replacing incumbent Gopi Krishnan Radhakrishnan, who will be leaving the company later this month to pursue other opportunities, the company said.

Infosys also informed that Inderpreet will take charge on July 3. Inderpreet, who holds LLB degree from Delhi University and an LLM from Queen’s University, Canada, worked as Managing Partner of a midsized law firm in Silicon Valley and has also worked with ITC Limited as in-house counsel before joining Wipro as General Counsel in October 2011.

Speaking on the appointment, Infosys Chief Executive Officer Vishal Sikka said he is delighted to welcome Inderpreet to Infosys. “Inderpreet has a strong and diverse, global experience spanning over 24 years, and her expertise will be integral to the transformation journey we are on,” he said.
In a statement, Infosys also announced the appointment of Karmesh Vaswani as the Global Head – Retail, CPG & Logistics (RCL) and Nitesh Banga as the Global Head of Manufacturing, with effect from July 15.

Karmesh Vaswani and Nitesh Banga are both career Infoscions who have held strategic portfolios across the organisation for nearly a decade. While Vaswani joined in July 2010 as VP and Head, Client Services - Retail, CPG and Logistics, Nitesh Banga joined Infosys as Group Engagemnent Manager in April 2011.

Dadlani quits

In an another surprise development, Infosys Americas’ head and global head of manufacturing, retail, CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) and logistics unit Sandeep Dadlani put in his papers. He is also a trustee of Infosys Foundation USA.

The move will be a setback for Sikka as he had entrusted Dadlani with the additional responsibility of generating more business from the company’s new software solutions.

When contacted by DH, sources said that it will cast a spell on Sikka’s leadership as Dadlani will be the ninth executive vice president to quit the under his leadership. He is also the chairman of Edgeverve, the wholly owned subsidiary of Infosys.

In the meantime, former head of consulting Sanjay Purohit, former head of BPO Anup Upadhyaya and former head of EdgeVerve Michael Reh too resigned.
