Woman murders mother-in-law for handling money matters
Bengaluru: In an incident reported from the state capital, a woman was arrested for allegedly murdering her mother-in-law last week. The shocking part was that, the woman, a teacher went to school as if nothing had happened.
Nazeera Begum (28), resident of Ramamurthynagar had married Imran Saab, a cabby and owner of a chicken stall and was annoyed that they had to give all their earnings to mother-in-law Badrunissa (57).
On that fateful day, Imran left home to drop their son to school. Nazeera, a kindergarten teacher told her husband that she would leave for school in a while. She then began a heated argument with Badrunissa and in the meantime, stabbed her with a knife. Nazeera then took gold jewelry worth Rs 2 lakh and hid them under the bed to make it look like a robbery. She left home before her husband could return. Imran was in for a shock when he returned and saw his mother lying in a pool of blood. He informed Nazeera who rushed home, pretending to be shocked.
The police initially thought it was a murder for gain. As investigations were on, Nazeera repeatedly mentioned the stolen jewelry; further, scratch marks on Nazeera’s fingers and neck, caused by Badrunissa when she struggled led them to question Nazeera. She finally confessed to the crime.
She said that she was upset that Imran and she had to hand over their salaries to Badrunissa and had to ask her for daily expenses.
