Man stabbed, head severed for not repaying Rs 7,000
Bengaluru: In a shocking incident, a man was murdered after he refused to repay Rs 7,000. The incident took place at Devanahalli in the state capital.
Shashi Kumar (24), a farmer, had lent Rs 27,000 to Manjunath (23), a car driver sometime ago. Manjunath repaid Rs 20,000 but was not ready to return the balance. When asked for the money, he reportedly used to verbally abuse Shashi.
Angered by Manjunath’s behavior, Shashi met Manjunath at Uganavadi and demanded that he paid the money. When he refused and began abusing him, Shashi took out a knife and stabbed Manjunath fatally. He then severed Manjunath’s head, placed it in his two-wheeler’s storage compartment and took it to Vishwanathapura police station where he confessed to the murder.
The constables recognized Shashi as he was previously involved in another case. A case of murder was registered.
The body was taken to taluk hospital on Monday morning for the postmortem and was later handed over to the family.
Manjunath had recently got married while Shashi was married and has a four-month-old daughter, police sources said.
