Youth declared brain dead after accident; parents donate organs


Udupi: The Udupi police worked in coordination with KMC Hospital, Manipal and created a green corridor to transport the organs of a brain dead boy to Bengaluru on Monday morning.

Himanshu (17) met with a road accident on Saturday and was declared brain dead the following day. Immediately his parents decided to donate his organs. Accordingly, the hospital authorities coordinated with the police and a green corridor was created to transport organs like kidneys, liver and corneas to Bengaluru via flight in the wee hours of Monday.
