Dist Admin takes steps to ensure availability of drinking water during summer
mangaluru: Dr K G Jagadeesha, Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district has said that the District Administration had taken decisions on ensuring that the district did not face drinking water shortage during the next summer.
He said that water from rivers and vented dams should not be used for agricultural purposes other than for crops between January and May. He added that the respective officers had to meet up with farmers and educate them on the issue.
Meanwhile, Mangalore Electricity Supply Company (MESCOM) will disrupt power supply to pump sets that were used for agricultural crops.
