Miscreants’ burn down Tannirbhavi’s Tree Park; loss estimated at Rs 7 lakh
Mangaluru: Unidentified miscreants allegedly set fire at the Tannirbhavi Tree Park during the wee hours of Wednesday; the act burnt down the entire park which was inaugurated on March 26, 2016.
Sources have said that a library with 500 books and a few wooden structures, kiosks and the forest department ticket counter were reduced a pile of ashes.
Forest officials have said that the loss estimated was about Rs 7 lakh. They added that the miscreants’ had used fuel to ignite the fire.
A case has been registered at Panambur police station.
