Western 361 degree 12th Largest Job Fair 


Western 361 degree 12th Largest Job Fair was held by Western Institute of Technology in association with College of Commerce & Management at the Padua College Campus, Kadri Hills, Nanthur, Mangalore on 19/5/2017. More than 46 Companies with more than 1000 job openings participated in this Job Fair. 


The function began with a prayer song  and welcome dance by the students of Padua College of Commerce & Management. The formal function was welcomed by Rev. Fr. Alwin Serrao, Principal Padua College.


Most Rev. Dr. Aloysius Paul D’souza, Bishop of Mangaluru Diocese Inaugurated the function. Speaking on the occassio he told that Job fair events are highly popular in the eyes of both employers and potential employees. To aid the recruitment, application, and networking process, job fairs and training expos are held all over the world in various locations. This is an ingenious way to meet the needs of both employers and potential employees.



The chief guests for the function were Rev. Fr. Antony Shera, Correspondent, Padua Educational Institutions, Sri. K. Abhayachandra Jain, Ex Minister, Govt of Karnataka, MLA Mulky-Moodbidri and Sri Ivan D’souza, Member of Legislative Council, Govt of Karnataka.



Speaking on the occassion Rev. Fr. Antony Shera told that the need of conducting Job Fair is to provide employment opportunities to the youth of our country. Sri. K. Abhayachandra Jain told that  An organization attending a job fair may be interested in recruiting employees, promoting their business, or acquiring top talents by minimizing costs (to promote or advertise job postings). No matter what the intention is, a student is likely to benefit from the event regardless.Sri Ivan D’souza told that job fair is very essential in today’s society. The vice Principal of Padua College, Mr. Roshan also actively participated in the Job fair



Among the companies that took part, few of them were Wipro, Hotel Prestige, One City Digital Media, ASW Garodi Steel Corporation, Mphasus, HGS, Winman Software, Bharath Autocars, Volkswagwen, Kanchana Hyundai, Renault, Mandovi, Vibrant, Karnataka Agencies, Goan Institute, ABF Group of companies, PSN Automotive and many more.

Around 1600 students participated in the event, out of which 636 students were shortlisted and 171 students were selected on the spot.Job fair took place from 8:30-6:00. The Vote of thanks was given by Walter Stephan Mendes, President of Western Institute of Technology. The event was compered by Florence Mendes, Principal of Western Institute of Technology.
