The Feast of Nativity was celebrated at Our Lady of Pompei English Medium School, Kaikamba on 9/9/2017.

The birth of Mother Mary was celebrated at Our Lady of Pompei English Medium School, Kaikamba with great pomp and joy.

Mr. Walter Stephan Mendes, President of Bharath Matha Educational & Charitable Trust, Mrs. Florence Mendes Correspondent of Our Lady of Pompei English Medium School, Kaikamba, Mrs. Swarnalatha Headmistress of Our Lady of Pompei English Medium School, Kaikamba, Adlene S Mendes Trustee of Bharath Matha Educational & Charitable Trust, Tashi from Bhutan, Staff and students of the School were present on the occasion.

The programme was welcomed by Mrs. Nathalia Alice Menezes.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Walter Stephan Mendes told that the traditional date of the feast, September 8, falls exactly nine months after the feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary. Perhaps because of its close proximity to the feast of the Assumption of Mary, the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary is not celebrated today with the same solemnity as the Immaculate Conception

Mrs. Florence Mendes told that there are only three people whose birthdays have traditionally been celebrated by Christians. Jesus Christ, at Christmas; Saint John the Baptist; and the Blessed Virgin Mary. And we celebrate all three birthdays for the same reason: All three were born without Original Sin.

The importance of the feast was spoken by Flavia. The feast was explained in Kannada by Lavy who also sang a song on the occasion.

Flowers were offered to Mother Mary by the students. There were also choirs & songs by the Students and teachers of Our Lady of Pompei English Medium School, Kaikamba.Various dances were also organized to glorify Mother Mary

The program was compeered by Mrs. Anitha Lobo.
