NURMS KSRTC Buses flagged off by Madhwaraj in Udupi


Udupi: Minister Pramod Madhwaraj flagged off NURMS-KSRTC city buses at Udupi on Wednesday, September 7.

Addressing the gathering, Madhwaraj said if public demand is more, additional city buses will be introduced. He further added that there is no question of bowing to private bus lobby. First time in history KSRTC buses is benefiting the students.

During UPA government, then Transport minister, Oscar Fernandes had sanctioned 28 buses to Udupi. In the first phase, 12 buses have started its operation. 5 buses will start operating from 8th September and remaining seven buses will start operating from next month.
NURM buses will operate 120 trips per day in the district.

Nearly 3000 students of schools and colleges participated in the inaugural function.
