Woman from Belman dies after car crashes into boulder near Kolar


Kolar/Karkala: A woman from Belman lost her life after the car she was travelling by went out of control and crashed into a boulder near Kolar in the wee hours of Monday.

Vidya Kamath (53) was on a pilgrimage to Tirupati with her family. Rajaram Pai had bought a new car and he was driving while his wife Rekha, children Pavan and Sahana and Vidya were travelling with him.

It is said that they were supposed to go on the pilgrimage last week, but postponed it due to the Cauvery dispute. As they were on their journey on Monday morning, the car went out of control and rammed into a boulder, killing Vidya while the others suffered injuries and were admitted into Manipal Hospital, Bengaluru.
