Student who attacked Principal, remanded to judicial custody till Nov 7
Mangaluru: Mohammed Shanawaz, who attacked Milagres College Principal Fr Michael Santhumayor, has been remanded to judicial custody till November 7.
Shanawaz, a final year BBA student attacked Fr Santhumayor on October 20 as he was leaving his cabin for lunch; it is said that he was not given his hall ticket due to attendance shortage and thus resorted to the attack. The Principal suffered injuries and was admitted to a private hospital in the city while Shanawaz was absconding.
The Bunder police succeeded in arresting Shanawaz on Monday near Pumpwell when he was attempting to escape to Kerala.
