CM to participate in valedictory function of Veerarani Abbakka Utsav-2017
Mangaluru: Veerarani Abbakka Utsav-2017 is scheduled to be held at the Asaigoli Kendra Maidan in Konaje on February 4 and 5 commemorating contribution of Ullal queen Abbakka. Karnataka State Minister for Culture Umashree will inaugurate the event. Prior to the inaugural session, ’Janapada Dibbana’ a cultural procession will be held from Derlakatte to the venue.
Rani Abbakka Kreedotsava has been organised at Vidyodaya Higher Primary School Grounds Asaigoli as part of the event. A seminar focusing women titled ‘Mahile Mattu Asaampradayika Nelegalu,’ will also be organised as part of the event on February 05.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will confer the Veera Rani Abbakka Award to Prof. D Vedavathi in the valedictory function of the event. Dakshina Kannada District in-charge Minister Ramanatha Rai, Karnataka state Food and Civil Supplies Minister U T Khader and other dignitaries are expected to take part in the programme.
