ABVP urges Mangalore University VC to resign; to hold protests from Feb 11 against mismanagement in exam result
Mangaluru: “Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) will organise protests urging Mangalore University vice chancellor, registrar and registrar for examination to resign from their respective posts as the university failed to resolve issues related publication of examination results. Various examination results published by the university include errors in marks cards, certificates and others. Also, many students didn’t get their examination results on time which has spoiled their higher education for a year. These issues have been continuing for the last two years and the issue has turned into a headache for the students studying in various colleges of the university, said ABVP Karnataka Sate Executive Member Hithesh Bekal in a press conference held in Mangaluru city on Thursday.
The protesters will hold demonstrations, signature campaign collection against vice chancellor, university other officials and others from February 11 at the colleges those come under Mangalore University jurisdiction in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Kodagu districts. The colleges are expected to be shut by the students protesting the university’s failure in publishing accurate result of the examinations on time.
"ABVP objects and criticizes the irresponsibility of the university officials as they failed to solve these issues for the last two years. The university has out sourced examination result publishing work to a private company for which the university pays Rs 120 to the company to publish an examination result. However, the result published by the company include errors and many students have failed to get their result on time. As many as 85000 students are pursuing their education at 210 recognised colleges of the university at present. This means that the university pays Rs 1,02,0000 to the company as fee to publish the results of every semester," ABVP said
