Maximum Temperature Touches 35.9 Degree C in Mangaluru City Amid Decline in Wind Flows

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada and its neighboring districts have been witnessing a steep rise in temperature in the current summer season amid lack of flow of winds and cloudy atmosphere especially at night. Maximum temperature in Dakshina Kannada was reached 35.9 degree Celsius in Mangaluru city on Saturday whereas minimum temperature was seen at 25.2 degree Celsius. Normally, during March, the maximum temperature in Mangaluru city is stands near 32 degree Celsius while minimum temperature hovers near 22 degree Celsius.

Meanwhile, temperature in Karnataka state has crossed 40 degree Celsius after Kalburgi district recorded a maximum temperature of 40.7 degree Celsius on Sunday. Temperature in Bengaluru and Hassan reached 37.2 and 36.6 degree Celsius respectively in the last two days. Heavy sunlight and lack of flow of winds are likely to support the temperature to move up in coming days.

According to the experts from India Meteorological Department, rise in the quantity of smoke, concrete buildings, decline in humidity in the atmosphere, decline in forest area and other factors are contributing steep rise in temperature in Karnataka and the trend is very likely to continue in upcoming years also.
