First Konkani Epic ’Shrirama Charitha’ Released
Mangaluru/Sirsi: ‘Shrirama Charitha’ an epic written in Konkani language for the first time was released at Marikamba temple in Sirsi of Uttara Kannada district at a function held on Sunday. The book was written by Vishwanatha Shet of Harsikatta in a time span of 10 years and is published by Uttara Kannada District Konkani Sahithya Parishad. The book contains 1, 500 pages including 5, 000 Shadpadis (Prosody). Illustration on the Shadpadis is also given in the book published. Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award Winner, Konkani Writer Gopalakrishna Pai and other dignitaries released the book. MLA Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri, Industrialist Raveendra Nayak and others were present on the occasion.
