One dead, several injured after speeding bus rams into bike, tanker

Kundapur: A man was killed while several others were injured in a serial accident between a tanker, bus and a bike at Nagoori in the taluk on Monday evening.

It is said that the tanker, driven by Narayan Acharya (43) was on its way to Goa from Kundapur. An oncoming speeding private bus rammed into a bike and head-on into the tanker after overtaking another vehicle. The intensity of the accident was such that the tanker driver was killed on the spot while about 28 others suffered injuries.

Sources say that the bus was speeding as it was delayed. Traffic came to a standstill for nearly an hour and a half after the accident. The Byndoor police rushed to the spot and took control of the situation.

A case was registered.
