Cash, Gold Jewelry Worth More-than Rs 3 Lakh Stolen from Locked House in Udupi


Udupi: Cash and gold jewellery worth more than Rs 3 lakh was reportedly stolen from the residence of Ammunje Premananda Kamath in Udupi town when he and his family had been out of station during May 3 to 7. The thieves entered the residence by breaking the lock to steal cash of Rs 35000 and gold jewellery worth Rs 3 lakh. The Kamath family was on a tour to Pune to attend their grandson’s birthday function.

According to the police, the local thieves might have stolen the items kept in the house as they may have information on the tour program of the house owner and his family. The local police have registered a case of the incident and investigating the crime.
