Karnataka DGP Visits Violence Hit Areas in Dakhsina Kannada; Meets People, Cops

Mangaluru: Karnataka State Director General of Police (DGP), Rupak Kumar Dutta has reviewed law and order situation in communal violence hit Dakshina Kannada district on Friday. DGP interacted with the general public and personally evaluated the present situation in the district. He was accompanied by Western Range IGP Harishekharan and other senior police officers.

Dutta visited Bantwal taluk on Friday to evaluate the arrangements taken to control the situation in the taluk which has been witnessing series of incidents of communal violence in the past two months.

DGP also had a meeting with police officers in Dakshina Kannada including Additional Director General of Police Alok Mohan, immediate past Mangaluru City Police Commissioner M Chandra Sekhar, former Superintendent of Police Dr Sharanappa S D, Western Range Inspector General of police Harishekaran and others to gather information on the incidents took place in Dakshina Kannada during the last two to three months.

DGP was reached Mangaluru city on Thursday evening and later met senior police officers. He spent his entire day on Friday in Dakhsina Kannada meeting general public, various organisations, police and others.
