Home Minister Asks Not to Hold Unity March in Dakshina Kannada on Sept 12


Mangaluru: Karnataka State Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy has asked Dakshina Kannada District Incharge Minister B Ramanatha Rai and organisers of Unity March not to hold the proposed march scheduled on September 12 in Dakshina Kannada district. The minister also clarified that the government won’t allow any rallies, processions which could disrupt the peace and security in the district.

Home minister noted that the Unity March may create communal tensions in the region even if Mangaluru Chalo Rally ended peacefully on September 7 in the city. The proposed, ‘Unity March’ is reportedly scheduled to be held from Farangipet to Mani on September 12 with the aim of restoring the peace in the district.
