Mangaluru: Panchamukhi Balaga Urva, 92.7 BIG FM conduct ’Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’

Mangaluru, November 3: “Cleaning up the country cannot be the sole responsibility of sweepers. Do citizens have no role in this? We have to change this mindset,” -PM Narendra Modi.

The event was inaugurated at 7 am on November 2. Mr. Manohar Boloor, managing trustee at Maariyamma temple Urva, Chandrashekar Devadiga Polali, district Rajyothsava award winner 2014, Amithakala Tharanath, ex-vice Mayor of Mangalore City Municipal Corporation, Radio Jockey and executive producer RJ Varsha from 92.7 BIG FM, Ramachandra Shetty, president Hindu Seva Samithi and Sarvajanika Ganeshothsava Samithi Urva, Mr. Radhakrishna, social worker and others were present on the occasion.

Panchamukhi Balaga, Urva took the pledge of conducting the Swacha Bharath Abhiyan on the third Sunday of every month.

Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Manohar Boloor, the managing trustee at Mariyamma Temple Urva said, “I am extremely happy to see the support from the public for this event today. I would like to thank each and everyone for taking time from their busy schedule and joining hands for this event.”

RJ Varsha, speaking on the occasion said, “It is our duty to keep our city clean. If every individual owns up, soon we can make our city clean and green. Team BIG FM will also join Panchamukhi Balaga Urva on the third Sunday of every month for Swach Bharath Abhiyan.  

More than 100 localities joined the programme.
